With the nuclear power plant meltdowns and radiation releases in Japan, more Americans (76 percent ) now want clean, renewable-energy resources – such as wind and solar – and increased energy efficiency as an alternative to more nuclear power in the United States, according to the Christian Science Monitor. What do you think? Please answer the poll below and leave a comment if you’re so inclined.

What do you think of the state legislature working to UNDO the 2009 vote of the people that promoted renewable energy sources, as well as their working to UNDO a 1976 vote against tacking on the cost of building nuclear power plants on our electric bills?

Climate Change

The St. Louis Science Center has a new exhibit on Climate Change and how it will possibly impact the Earth and its population if warming continues unabated. Please take a moment by answering my latest poll and give me your thoughts.

Also, here are some dates of my upcoming presentations.

Feb. 16: Webster University, Sunnen Lounge – Noon – Nature’s Wrath Presentation
In anticipation of an active tornado season, Don will give a presentation about Missouri’s worst tornadoes based on the research he did for his “Show Me…Nature’s Wrath” book.

March 27: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church – Eureka – 6:30 p.m. – Nature’s Wrath
Don Corrigan will present a Powerpoint on tornadoes that hit St. Louis and Missouri from 1896 to 2011.

April 7: The Herculaneum Historical Society- 7 p.m. – Nature’s Wrath
Don Corrigan will present a Powerpoint Show on tornadoes that hit St. Louis and Missouri from 1896 to 2011.

Some climates scientists and geo-engineers say America’s political system is too dysfunctional to ever address long-term problems like global warming.

Therefore, technologists in other countries are exploring ways to lower the earth’s temperatures. One plan involves aerosoling tiny, reflective particles into our skies to deflect the sun’s heat. Another has robotic ships shooting salt water into ocean clouds to deflect sun heat and to stabilize planet temperatures.

These technologies are now being developed in the European Union, China and Canada. Lest you think this is all a sci-fi pipe dream, David Keith of an environmental systems group in Calgary said plans are well along for the new technology, and a major investor is Bill Gates.
